Police officer 'stabbed', outside UK parliament

At least one man was shot dead by police outside the U.K. parliament Wednesday afternoon after stabbing a police officer, said Commons Leader David Lidington.
Metropolitan police say they are treating the incident as a terrorist incident until they know otherwise.
Parliament Square is under a complete security lockdown with all entrances and exits suspended, with all roads into the square cordoned off by police.
Following the incident, armed anti-terror officers went inside the parliament building.
Lidington said shortly after the incident that a police officer had been stabbed and the assailant was shot by the police.
Reports also say that in an apparently separate incident, up to 12 people were mowed down by a car on nearby Westminster Bridge.
One woman died and others suffered "catastrophic" injuries in the car attack, according to a junior doctor at St. Thomas' Hospital.
Prime Minister Theresa May was rushed away by car and is at her residence following the developments, her office said.
Police and ambulances, including air ambulances, rushed to the scene.
"Please use common sense and restraint in circulating pictures and videos of those that have been injured during the incident in Westminster," the Metropolitan Police tweeted.
