Abu Dhabi Airports announced the installation of “contactless” control systems that operate with innovative and unique technology in 53 elevators at Abu Dhabi International Airport, as part of the efforts made by Abu Dhabi Airports to provide a virus-free environment and limit its spread.
The move comes in cooperation with the UAE company, “Meta Touch”, a pioneer in this field, with the aim of reducing the possibilities of transmission of the Corona virus through the direct touch of the elevator control panels.
The new technology that provides contact control panels was designed and manufactured by Meta Touch, a startup based at the Emirates University of Science and Innovation Park, which develops innovative solutions that support health and safety standards.
The new technology allows people to use the elevators, by pointing by hand remotely, towards the desired options, which are shown on the control panels, without touching them.
Abu Dhabi Airports is constantly keen to take an elite of health and safety measures, with the aim of providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for travelers through its airports, in line with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Airports.
This technology comes on the heels of the recent use of self-driving “robots” to undertake sterilization of employee-designated areas, cargo facilities, in addition to passenger plane sterilization operations, as well as the launch of SterixGates gates for sterilization, to purify people within 3 seconds.
The installation of the new systems reflects the commitment of Abu Dhabi Airports to contribute to curbing the spread of the “Covid-19” virus and work to ensure that its airports and associated facilities are free of the virus to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees, travelers and visitors, as Abu Dhabi airports are constantly keen to take a selection of health and safety measures With the aim of providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for travelers through its airports.
