Lady Gaga: ‘I don’t care about fame’

Lady Gaga claims she’s not bothered by fame because she’d rather put all of her energy into creating music instead.
The ‘Applause’ singer – who is known for her bizarre outfits and outrageous hair styles – was forced to take time out of her busy schedule in February in order to have hip surgery, but she admits the time away from work made her re-evaluate her priorities and allowed her to set her creative juices flowing once again.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: ‘I really enjoyed the downtime because it rejuvenated my creativity and I figured out a lot about myself after the last few years. ’I realised I am not in it for the fame. I don’t need to go out and be recognised to feel alive.
‘I do miss being onstage and singing and dancing. I didn’t miss getting dressed up.’
The eccentric star – who gave her first live rendition of her new single ‘Applause’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City last week – previously admitted that she only feels truly alive when she is performing in front of a crowd.
She said: ‘When I’m not on stage I don’t feel alive. But when I hit the stage it’s like everything that I’m thinking and feeling, where I belong – that’s where it is.’
